Supporting the fashion brand making a big impact on the global landscape
Being able to support clients not only in the here and now, but adapting to their needs as their business grows and evolves lies at the heart of the VA relationship with any client.
The PA Business Support team are currently backing London based client Tengri as it makes the bold move to launch a Crowdcube campaign to raise £100,000 in funding to take their business to the next level.
The city’s fashion brand’s USP moves far beyond it’s offering of knitwear, yarns and design led products. Tengri is a collective movement pioneering the use of materials from Mongolian nomadic herders.
The London based social enterprise has built a business combining technology innovation, design and craftsmanship, transparency in supply chain – an eco-conscious business model which not only creates beautiful products but also has a clear focus on the effect of the business on the environment.
Although they trade in knitted wares, the underlying narrative is much deeper – to challenge business to become fairshare, and ultimately empower the people of Mongolia to invest business profits where they need it most.
Inherent challenges, flexible solutions
Here, the PA Business Support team can add that extra security, flexibility and stability to keep things moving whilst these factors play their part in challenging the business and steering its focus elsewhere.
In early April the fashion house stepped things up a notch with an application for Crowdfunding – where everyday people, businesses, and figures back invest their hard earned cash into up and coming projects to help get them off the ground. A real life (and more friendly) ‘Dragons Den’ if you will.
This move requires a great deal of focus, energy and spreading of good news to get off the ground – a perfect opportunity to introduce the PA Business Support team to deliver a range of day-to-day administrative services.
Tengri is a business that presents itself with inherent challenges. A business that is built entirely on dialogue and collaboration with yak herders means language challenge, cultural dynamics, time differences and varying technological differences make the basics of everyday good business that little bit harder.
In truth, I have no formal business or fashion training. Every day is a steep learning curve and I feel pretty crazy for launching a fashion label that’s also a collective movement. Having PA Business Support in tow takes off the pressure and allowed me to remain open to learn and grow.

Looking to the future
We are continuingly providing our clients with the capability
for growth and development of their business
With crowd funding now underway, the focus for the business moving forward is one of growth.
Tengri aims to mobilise an additional 1,000 herder families in 2016, helping to preserve Mongolian herders’ nomadic traditions, protect wildlife and prevent further land-erosion, all this side of the reminder of 2016.
With another PA Business Support client Tribe First supporting Tengri in its equity campaign, the value that the team bring in networking and matchmaking is highly valued by the Tengri team.
Sophie, Sabina and the team have welcomed us with open arms into their world as well as merging seamlessly into ours. We’ve met some great contacts and appreciate the links in with the business community. Of course we value the virtual assistant service but there’s so much more value in the bigger picture. They understand us, our values, our ethos and our working ways. That sort of relationship is invaluable and we can’t wait to see what the next year brings.
